Plan for Research and Procedure

Who?
I will be surveying four main groups. Group one will be the adult group. This will contain my family and their coworkers. Group two and three is both the youth group. This will be broken down further into male and female. I will survey my friends and classmates for this. Finally I will survey an elderly group for group four. This will be both my grandmas and members of the senior center.

What?
I will be testing whether people identify themselves as a Democrat or Republican because of social class, family, or other reasons with out real knowledge. Because there is only two main political parties in the US that is all that I will represent in this survey.

Where?
I will post this most likely on a social networking website such as Facebook. I again will pass it around places such as my mom's work place and my nana's senior center.

Why?
I believe that the average American does not have efficient knowledge when stating they are a Democrat or Republican. I think society takes too much of a role in what people as individuals say. Again this can be through family, social class, school, etc. etc.

When?
I don't have a specific date in mind as of now. Hopefully, I will be able to formulate non bias questions in a timely rate so this research can be started faster.

How?
I will be using a survey as my method. I also will observe the people. Lastly, I will probably obtain some knowledge from archive research. Things like elections this year and years prior.

I am honestly excited to see if my hypothesis is right that people state what they are without truly knowing what they then are supposed to stand for. Yes, I do believe some people will have inconsistency  I also believe that some will answer and the wealthier will be Republican and the workers will be Democratic. It will still be interesting to see!

What I've Learned.....& Where I'll Go from Here

I basically learned that I did not know nearly as much as I should have about politics. When watching others, they did not either; and a good portion knew less than me. SHOCKING! But, I also learned what commonly Republicans and Democrats "stand for". I learned how easily a country can get mad at a law. (Aka the soda ban). And how sometimes a less is more approach is not good. (terrorist attack in Libya). Basically, whatever the situation in politics their are three things that will be said; the good,  the bad, and the truth.

To apply a researching method I had to think long and hard of what was my best bet. Then I thought "what would a politician do"? That one did not help. Somehow I came to the decision I will multi task. I will both continue observing people and I will also create a survey. The survey will be applied to four different groups. One the adults. This will be family and my mother's coworkers. Then will come my classmates. (female) Then I will survey my guy friends. That will cover the youth group.Lastly, I will survey the elderly. My nana, grandma, and other older folk at the senior center. Wish me luck.
