Plan for Research and Procedure

Who?
I will be surveying four main groups. Group one will be the adult group. This will contain my family and their coworkers. Group two and three is both the youth group. This will be broken down further into male and female. I will survey my friends and classmates for this. Finally I will survey an elderly group for group four. This will be both my grandmas and members of the senior center.

What?
I will be testing whether people identify themselves as a Democrat or Republican because of social class, family, or other reasons with out real knowledge. Because there is only two main political parties in the US that is all that I will represent in this survey.

Where?
I will post this most likely on a social networking website such as Facebook. I again will pass it around places such as my mom's work place and my nana's senior center.

Why?
I believe that the average American does not have efficient knowledge when stating they are a Democrat or Republican. I think society takes too much of a role in what people as individuals say. Again this can be through family, social class, school, etc. etc.

When?
I don't have a specific date in mind as of now. Hopefully, I will be able to formulate non bias questions in a timely rate so this research can be started faster.

How?
I will be using a survey as my method. I also will observe the people. Lastly, I will probably obtain some knowledge from archive research. Things like elections this year and years prior.

I am honestly excited to see if my hypothesis is right that people state what they are without truly knowing what they then are supposed to stand for. Yes, I do believe some people will have inconsistency  I also believe that some will answer and the wealthier will be Republican and the workers will be Democratic. It will still be interesting to see!

What I've Learned.....& Where I'll Go from Here

I basically learned that I did not know nearly as much as I should have about politics. When watching others, they did not either; and a good portion knew less than me. SHOCKING! But, I also learned what commonly Republicans and Democrats "stand for". I learned how easily a country can get mad at a law. (Aka the soda ban). And how sometimes a less is more approach is not good. (terrorist attack in Libya). Basically, whatever the situation in politics their are three things that will be said; the good,  the bad, and the truth.

To apply a researching method I had to think long and hard of what was my best bet. Then I thought "what would a politician do"? That one did not help. Somehow I came to the decision I will multi task. I will both continue observing people and I will also create a survey. The survey will be applied to four different groups. One the adults. This will be family and my mother's coworkers. Then will come my classmates. (female) Then I will survey my guy friends. That will cover the youth group.Lastly, I will survey the elderly. My nana, grandma, and other older folk at the senior center. Wish me luck.

Don't know how to feel....

This article is about how Donald Trump offered Obama 5 million dollars for what ever charity he chooses if he can show his college and passport papers! Yes you heard right 5 MILLION DOLLARS!

I honestly do not know how to feel. One part of me wants to say, how rude! How can you disrespect the president like this! This is basically questioning if he is truly a US president.

The other part of me wants to say, what is the worst that is going to happen? Obama lied and he should be out of office therefore. OR 5 million dollars gets donated to a charity.

So Mr. President I understand it is a personal attack but boo hoo 5 million dollars will get donated to a charity so for the good of the country just get over it!

New Romney? New Girl!

New Girl  creates a Romney son! This son brings girls drooling for the status and wealth the family is known to have. Though most television does not shine truth on history or current events it did hold some truth. The Romneny's are indeed part of the upper class  They are also Mormons which is why this "new Romney" was caught when he said he drank beers with his father. This episode was hilarious and reminded me to write something on this blog.

So say hello to Tugg Romney(;

Debate Time! Is it Obama's care or Romney's the country wants...

This political cartoon is referencing the first presidential debate this year! It took place yesterday, and boy was it entertaining....

Here we see  the moderator standing in the back requesting to ask his question. However, the moderator is suppose to be in charge, and does not have to resort to requests.

Here we also see Romney standing there elbowing the moderator back. Saying "I'm in charge here,". This is a reference to Romney's over-talking of the moderator, and trying to take control. Romney is depicted as a bully.

Obama is standing their with his mind on something else, and that something else is not how our embassy was bombed or what his next statement should even be, but his wive's anniversary. Obama opened up his questioned wishing Michelle a happy anniversary  While some Americans find that heart warming others find it   the opposite because Obama should be addressing the questions not stating something that has no bearings to them.

It has been stated that Romney "won" the debate. If you have not yet watched this debate I will post a short video with some highlights here. Well, just the education and business primarily because that will have the biggest effect on our lives as teenagers. Both of the presidential candidates like I stated in an earlier post both value education. Romney thinks it should stay at the local level and they can form rules and regulations from there, but Obama thinks it is the federal governments job to get involved.

Would you like a large side of government with that?

We all should know about the NYC Soda Ban by now. If not from the news, I hope that you at least payed attention during sociology, or at least will not admit that you did not pay attention during sociology here.

I would like to start of by addressing the link. The link is flooded with comments such as "this country is now turning into a 'dictatorship' and now telling us what we can and cannot eat..." and "do you pay for my health insurance?" followed with a snark comment like "the government needs to keep its nose out of our stomachs".

We can see America as a whole is angered and feels violated . We are entitled to freedoms as an American. Freedom to speech, freedom to petition, freedom of religion, freedom of press, and to peacefully assemble are all promised in the First Amendment. However, we do not see freedom to consume large quantities of soda that puts our lives at risk as a freedom listed. Yes, Americans for many decades have been able to consume these quantities. However,  as the chart shows obesity has been scarily and quickly rising since those days. One of the governments many roles is to protect us citizens even if they have to intervene with the "norms" of society.

The video explains that this legislation only affects food establishments regulated by the city. This actually means that 711 can sell what ever size Slurpee they feel like (even the BIG GULP!) because they are not regulated by the city. Along with 711 you can also walk to a grocery store and buy what ever size bottle you please. And did they even account for refills at fast food establishments! Even Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts will not be affected because the consumer adds the sugar and not the establishment. So what I think is going on here is Governor Bloomberg was not looking to take away New Yorker's freedoms in any way, but to force New Yorkers' to realize that they are becoming obese. Although, New York falls at number 43 in the ranking of obesity by state they still have 24.5% of New Yorker ADULTS being obese. This is without even our generation added in yet! With out the generations below us added in yet! HOLD UP!

If almost a quarter of the New York population is obese with out accounting for our generation and the ones below us the number will rise! This is crazy! We already saw the graph that showed the increase through the years and now a quarter of just adults are obese in New York City. Remember, this is a city where the main way of transportation is walking.

But why New York? Well, a ban like this has to take place somewhere. New York is a state that generally passes controversial legislation first (i.e. gay marriage). And New York, you could say, sets a trend or paves the road for other state legislation similar or completely the same to be passed.

So is the US really becoming a "dictatorship" or are we going to fall to Communism, I doubt it. The legislation is vague enough to still give us the freedom to buy these beverages we please, but force us as Americans to open our eyes to the problem among us, obesity. So you can fight "what next" all you want, but when I'm asked "Would you like a large side of government with that," I will gladly say yes because I value my own health and this Sugar Ban really opened my eyes to where the country's health is heading.

Obama and Romney agree on nothing but....

Romney and Obama agree on nothing! Except, recently Obama and Romney may have found some middle ground. Both believe that college loans should not go up in price. Thank god, right? I mean I know for a fact I could not afford an increase in that. So looks like the Republicans and Democrats alike can agree on some things....
